Exhaust for 228ix

I am thinking of ordering either a Supersprint or Dinan exhaust. I researched both as I do not want loud raspy sound just a little more purr over the stock exhaust. SuperSprint is more expensive and does not offer black tips which I would need to get ceramic powder coated. Dinan is less and does offer black tips. Would appreciate any advice. thanks.

I like my Dinan catback pipes. Much better exhaust note but not obnoxious, plenty loud when you get on it and a 10 HP bump.

Sounds like getting downpipe will be the best choice for your goal

I already ordered a Dinan muffler. Would a down pipe make it louder at this point. I don't want noise.

Downpipe will make the exhaust more aggressive on cold start and wide open throttle only.
It will sound the same during normal driving

Thanks, I am sticking to muffler only. Wifey hates any noise anytime.

What will exhaust do to MPG?

I got the 228i specifically because of the better gas mileage, I'd like to keep it that way but add some nuts to the sound if I can

Shouldn't effect it negatively unless you get into the gas more to hear the new sound. Might get slightly better mileage if there is less back pressure.

Got the Dinan exhaust and CAI intake installed on my 228ix. I like the sound, sporty and a nice tone. The wife is good with it. Whew! A very slight uptick in performance. BTW, I am selling the Turner Motorsport black exhaust tips I took off the stock muffler. They are in new condition (5 months old) if anyone is interested. 1/2 price.

Yep, I have dealt with reuter motorsports before, a German motorsports based company. They are a distributor for Eisenmann exhausts. I believe they specialize in exhausts and have been working with BMWs for awhile.

Chances are the exhaust has eisenmann parts and perhaps a few custom pieces throughout the exhaust made by reuter motorsports.

Maybe not so much for you as you have iND as a partner for eisenmann in the US; but for those abroad, reuter motorsports is the cheapest place that I found for genuine eisenmann exhaust systems.
