Individual Color -- Frozen Arctic Grey Metallic
I am wondering if anyone here has seen the Frozen Arctic Grey color in person and what their thoughts are about it? It looks cool in the pics that I have seen online and I am planning on ordering a 2018 540xi with it in the upcoming months.
Seems like the upkeep for Frozen colors is a bit different than the regular metallic paints but not too much extra work from what I have read. Also anyone know how much extra time is normally added to the build length if you order an individual color? Thanks! |

Individual options can take from 2-8 weeks extra.

I have heard that matte paint finishes are not repairable. For example, a repair shop can't blend a quarter panel repaint into the rest of the car. So, a total vehicle repaint is necessary. Anyone know if this is true?

Awful colours to repair and maintain , they look IMHO unfinished.
Good luck with it IF you go that way also RV will be HIT LOW.

I've got a 2018 Frozen Arctic Grey 540 coming in at the end of the month. I will let you guys know how the maintenance is. I like the matte look that's why went for it, hopefully it won't be too too bad on repair and maintenance.

Not personally a fan of these frozen colours myself but in terms of the colour, I do like this particular one. A sort of darker bluestone.
If this was availble in gloss back when I ordered my car, I'd have been very tempted. As others have echoed, care is key to looking after these. |

As noted above, maintaining this unique finish is difficult. IMHO, it would be more practical (in this context, of course) to wrap the car in a frozen color. A wrap could be repaired, if necessary, panel by panel, or removed to reveal an underlying, protected finish. Seems to me that would be the best of both worlds.

Nice. What color are you going to paint it over the primer when you save up enough money for the paint job?
