A new M-tech diffuser ???
As I'm waiting for my car, I've probably read every single topic on this forum at least once. Also, I've accumulated more info about my car to be than anybody working for the dealer.
So...as I was looking for a diffuser to swap my m-tech diffuser with, I came across this. now I know its not an option for the m-tech, but why haven't anyone ever thought of making something like this for the m-tech. Something sportier and more aggressive than just a CF diffuser. You can consider this post a request or a poll/feeler. I'm not by any means implying that I'll do the job, I'm just an interested buyer with the will to pay a premium to get a bit more than just CF. Tell me what you think and if anybody is up to do it. Best regards

The one you found was made by Vornsteiner. Might as well better getting a Vornsteiner Rear bumper and diffuser...

I'm totally aware of that. But my point is, I already have the M-tech bumper and thats alone alot of $$$ to spend. So, I was looking for something more than just covering the diffuser with CF. Maybe something made for the M-tech more like the one in the pic above, with the small "fins" (not sure what to call them) hanging down. Also, degrading and buying a new oem bumper just to add the Vornsteiner bumper cover is out of question. Thnx for you help anyway

You could easily sell your mtech rear to recover the cost of a new bumper. Actually, you could probably do a trade + cash for OEM piece with someone on this forum...But only if you can find someone near you!! But bottom line, I would not call something degrading if you are changing the look to something you like better. OEM+ Vorsteiner piece is definitely NOT inferior to OEM mtech rear. I think you are just going to have to spend more $$$ The reason vendors do not make a various pieces like you are describing...there are always fitment issues with stock piece/aftermarket piece, cost of making a mold, and the fact that people here are super cheap! Nobody here is going to spend $900+ for a CF piece that replaces the OEM diffusor. If so...you would get one of these and call it a day. MSRP: $1160 from 3D Design.

I guess fitment issues may be a problem. But, won't all aftermarket parts have some if not same fitment issues ?
Making a mold might be a reason if it wasn't going to sell. While I'm not sure if many would actually buy it, I'm pretty sure some M-tech owners would appreciate having a choice other than CF OEM look. If doing a swap for an OEM bumper is the only way to go, I may consider it when adding quads. Big thanks for our reply

They make an OEM one but only for single exhaust. It has "fins" too.

personally, just my .02 quad tips are for the M3 period.
to me, it's like putting a turbo wing on a 911 Carrera or Carrera S. i love CF, I love the diffuser, just not into quads on a M3. good luck...when do you get your car? Meemz? |

lol yeah the waiting is killing me.
btw the pics of the diffuser you posted is for a 328i/325i I'm guessing because of the single exhaust cut out. I'm gonna try and sketch the thing I'm trying to find, and maybe someone would be up to try and make it . thnx for you help man, really appreciate it

i'm in the process of casting a mold of the one off my m-tech e90 to pretty much do exactly what you described. i may consider doing the same with the e92 one but dont hold your breath, it takes a long time to cast a proper mold to get the perfect fit and time to lay a qaulity weeve. in all honesty it's extremely cost and time prohibitive to make but i want it, its not available, so im gonna make it.

I like all the random objects in the picture, like my dog treats, my hand-shake-work-out device, my ed-hardy coasters, and a paper towel.
BTW, I fixed my table, it had a warranty.
