DIY Info: E92/3 Black & Silver Carbon Fiber Roundel Replacement

I received the new carbon fiber roundels package from Ada (adamaster) by Express Mail from Taiwan. These come with two exterior roundels (front & rear), four wheel caps, and one interior roundel for the airbag. The package comes with the newer larger sized roundels (78mm) for the rear one.

Since there is an extensive DIY on how to do the front for the E90 and it's essentially the same in the E92, I'll skip over that. However, the rear one is a little tricky so I decided to write this DIY.

1. Get one of those plastic wedges for trim removal
2. Use a thin piece of plastic card and wedge it in between the paint surface and the emblem. I used my CPR card.
3. Wedge the plastic wedge in between the plastic card and the roundel, and pry as hard as you could. You'll notice a lot of resistance because the stupid emblem has adhesive back attaching it to the trunk.
4. Once you released the old roundel, turn it over and check and see if there's any rubber grommets stuck on the emblem. If there is, remove them and replace it on the trunk opening.
5. Now comes the trick part, if you compare the stock roundel to the CF one, you'll notice that the tabs on the back of the stock emblem is indeed bigger than the CF roundel. So, you'll need to order TWO of this 51-14-1-889-489-M9, your local dealership should stock these.
6. Insert these two tiny rubber grommets to the tabs on the CF roundel, then install the roundel over the two larger black rubber grommets on your trunk.

Now you are done with installing the trunk roundels.

Pics to follow of final results.

I ordered the same...but my problem is the original black rubber gormments will stop the new emblem sit flush to the trunk, because the new emblem tabs base doesn't have an indented area for the black rubber gormments to sit in...so my when I insert the tabs in all the way, I still have about 1mm space all around.

Hmm..... that's odd. Mine doesn't have any gaps after installation.
