Tire Pressures for Autocross

I'm curious to know what front/rear tire pressures people are running for autocross on stock Michelin PSS tires.

It shouldn't be too far off from 2.1bar all round (hot) I guess.

I ended up running 44psi front and 40psi rear with pretty good results on a cool day and fairly open autocross course.

that's way too high. next time try lowering it to a bit over 30 and you'll see huge improvements.

I ran 36 psi at the start with ambient at 50F and after three runs on a tight course I was up to 37.5psi. I chalked the tires and they looked good. The front right did seem to roll a bit more. It was the first event of the season and my first autox in the M2. I will start with a little lower pressure next time.

I also found sport + worked great for autox. I took all the nannies off (DSC off) for my last run did a partial spin out and the back end was moving around a lot more. I will need to learn the art of drifting if I try that again. Curious what others are doing for autox.

44psi was about fine. Fronts wore very evenly. Perhaps I'll lower it to 42 next time. For rears, perhaps I'll run 38 next time.

I nationally drive a 3460# E92 M3 and run 32F/28R on 275/35-18 RE71R's if that helps.

I've run 2 events in the M2 so far and have found it better (faster) with everything off (DSC off & Sport+). DSC kicks in too often & slows the car too much when it's left on. (Some people I've found don't know you have to hold the DSC button down for 10 secs to fully disable it).

I have actually run on pretty high pressures since the wait between runs is so long that the tires cool down and really dont heat up that much on the short runs.

IMHO Traction mode works surprisingly good but DSC fully off gives a slight edge although necessitating some extra care. In traction mode you can be a bit more sloppy with the gas pedal

I ran 37 front and 35 rear. I think I will drop the tire pressure down a bit next event. I ran sport + and felt like the car was pulling power trying to come out fast out of turns.

Thank you, I am going to try that this weekend and see how it goes.

I've now run several events plus Evo2 and Evo Challenge. I'm running on RE71R at 34 front 36 rear but at the last event (hot) I noticed a warning not to go over 80 due to low tire pressure. I also noticed a distinct lack of throttle response on a run around the same time as the warning appeared. I wonder if the throttle response is degraded when this warning appears. I added more air (35/37) and the warning went away and no more throttle issues.

(FYI Billy and Pat both loved the M2 at Evo Challenge school. At one point Pat said "I don't normally comment on one car over another but this car is fantastic")
