xhp easy question

I know there is the "official thread" and the "lets do it our self". One is flooded with a ton of different posts and the other is so in depth with information that I am not ready to try to comprehend. maybe it is covered in these, but there are so many pages I don't have time to read through each one.

I deleted my original stock flash because I had my head up my butt... now I want to make changed to my stage 3 "D" mode, but as expected xhp cant find the stock back up.

since I wanted to make changes I figured I would recreate my back up with my stage 3 and modify that. my problem is when I go to create the file I get an error message that says about being cant be left "null" it was a month ago so the complete message is off the top of my head. since my attempt there has been one or two updates.

does xhp need the stock file or can it use whatever is on the computer? maybe I had a user error??? when I originally did it I had zero issues, so I know my problem has to do with the file I deleted.

is there somewhere I can get the stock file?

You'd get better help from messaging the creator xHP Flashtool on Facebook page. He's of great help and responds fairly quick. GL

I don't see where that should big a big problem.

Providing Xhp does not screw up the boot loader, you can always re-flash back to stock using Winfkp. If you wanted to.

I don't think it is a big problem the car runs and drives just fine. I paid for the general license and just want to adjust my tune and I am not able to so. if I didn't pay the extra $120 I would be just fine and go on with life.

I have been talking with Clemens at xhp and he is getting me the files that I need to put back on my phone. in my current state I can not do anything with the tune until I get two files back on my phone.

just as an update and over view

-If you delete the 2 stock backup files you can not make any changes to configurations as the app will not work. if you didn't get the general flash license it is no big deal, if you did you have a $120 feature you can not use until you get the files back on the device.

-Email xHP and provide the "xhp.state" file from your device and they can generate some new files and get you back and running!

is there a crash course for those that want to make trans maps?

I don't want a performance map for drive mode I would really like to change the MPH and lightly tweak other areas in the map.. the stage 3 hybrid (1.1) just doesn't have the shift points I need for my daily driving style. I want to make my own D map (from stock) and have the two intertwined if possible without having to pay for $250 for "custom" mapping when all I want mainly is the MPH in and out changed for 6th gear.... im looking for in at 43mph and out at 37 or so I know rpm's will play a roll at 37...

is there an easy way to explain without the science

numbers up in this area are faster shifts
------------- in this are firmer clutch engagement
------------- in this area different MPH

im using tuner pro and I know that it is in the other thread, but im not on par with them im about 7 steps behind.... I just want simple for making small changes not looking for max

It's for economy, it quick shifts and tries to save fuel. There's no fun to be had while in 'D'. Shift over to S or M.

I didn't say I was trying to get performance out of D mode

I actually like the way it is now, but a majority of my city driving is around 40-50 MPH and its current shift point into 6th gear holds my car in 5th unless I hit 50 and then slow down.. if I hit about 43 mph the car shifts back to 5th starting the process over again...

I asked Clemens at xhp if he could tweak that setting or just over lay the shift points from manual mode in the D setting (it allows early shifting and holds the gears longer). he stated that is custom tuning and that starts at $250...

to spend $250 and have one gear tweaked a few MPH is out of my price range..

im just looking to create my own stock shift map for D

I know that, this is why I said initially that D mode in the stage 3 map IS ANYTHING BUT performance oriented. You'll be in 6th gear well before 50mph.

it shifts into 6th gear around 48-51 mph on hybrid version 1.1 and hold it until about 41mph... on hybrid version 1.0 the car would shift into 6th at 45, but then down shift back to 5th at 43

I don't think D mode is the same for any stage 1,2,3 except for the hybrid version of stage 3 which contains the stage 1 comfort map for drive and stage 3 for sport and manual mode...

I really like the hybrid maps they are smooth and soft shifting when you are driving around town, but it is not very responsive when you go to pass.. when I go to pass I move the shifter to sport mode and the car is super responsive... that is how I like it.
