Dyno Day! Jarek/JR Auto results

One of our local tuning shops had a show-n-shine and dyno day this last weekend, so I brought the D to see what it could do. I'm running the Jarek/JR Auto "stage 2" tune with EGR and SCR deactivated, but all hardware still in place. Results: 289whp, 489wtq! This is on a Dyno Dynamics AWD dyno, btw.

Overall the torque number is probably 40ft-lbs more than I was expecting. No complaints here. Plus, >400ft-lbs at just 1500rpm!

So the DPF is still on your car then? That's an insane torque figure for still having the hardware on. Curious to see what my stage 2.8 puts down at the wheels.

EDIT: Just wanted to note that a JR Stage 2 tune with stock hardware claims to make +70hp and +60tq over stock(crank) figures. That would mean his car should have 335hp(haha 335) and 485tq at the crank. Everyone talks a lot about how JR's numbers aren't at the wheels, and BPC's are. Looks like the HP number is lacking at the wheels, but the torque is spot on.

OEM un modded hp is on the order of 230 rwhp. Add 70 to that. 300 vs 289 is not far off considering dynos act differently, unit to unit.

My car has an open custom exhaust with only resonators on (modified circuit werks). I removed ecotune DP and installed a gutted DPF. I definitely noticed a drop off with my butt dyno. I also run JR 2.0. I had heard numbers on the order of 320-330 rwhp for JR2.0/with downpipe and open exhaust. Not sure I would buy off on a 289 to 325 (using average) jump in rwhp. That's 36 hp. I had postulated 10-15 hp delta. But of course that number is out of "my tail pipe".

I know I know. I need to log. I was planning to keep gutted DPF on until I participate in a track event. And I really really don't want to have to repeat installing the DPF back in.

EDIT: I just watched the video. No smoke at all. You must still have normal ungutted SCR. It will start to clog up.

He runs a modified Stage 2. The plain Stage 2 leaves all of the stock hardware, including DPF and SCR filters. He just had the EGR and urea coded out so they are no longer in use. That's where I was pulling my numbers from, the plain Stage 2. Stage 2 Race removes DPF, and you should absolutely pull the SCR filter in that scenario. Just looking for some closure to the "JR doesn't post WHP numbers and BPC does so BPC is stronger" argument. I'm really shocked by that torque figure leaving DPF and SCR on though. That's nuts. I also realize know that we use a ton of acronyms around here.

Yes, all hardware is still in place (I did delete the rear mufflers, though I doubt this made even 0.1hp of difference).

The hp number is spot-on with what Jarek claims if you factor in drivetrain losses, but the torque is actually about 40 ft-lbs higher than expected. Again, it's a good "problem" to have

Correct again.
