EGR, cooler delete
Is the kit from Abbes-Performance on E bay good for our US 335D's. If not, is someone in the forum selling a kit? I just bought a 2011 with 60K on it and want to get some mods done. I seen some pictures of intakes with carbon deposits. Is it worthwhile for me to pull the intake and clean? Car runs good.

Welcome!...just note that you'll need a tune or leave the EGR plugged in without a tune. You can also use EGR block-off plates, but personally prefer deleting.

Yeah I have the AA Rodriguez kit. Not hard to install, you will have the SES light on if you don't opt for any tuning. But it's so much better than doing a carbon cleaning.

Blocking the EGR cooler with IAKnown's blocking plates will trigger an SES after the second start without the tune. ITs the way to go if you don't plan on tuning as the EGR valve is still connected. I have the AA Kit and like it. The other thing they don't tell you is that you may have to reconnect the EGR cooler temperature sensor if they don't tune it right. If the sensor is disconnected from the car it will throw an SES, which is my current situation. |

Lol, it was my JR tune with EGR delete. After removal of my EGR cooler / EGR valve I was getting an error code indicating intake temp implausibility. Thanks to your help I learned it was because the temperature sensor from the EGR cooler hadn't been properly coded out. So when I removed the cooler and sensor the DDE was still expecting it and would trigger an SES. So, I just removed the sensor from my EGR cooler and plugged it back in and its now nicely measuring underhood temps. I've not had a chance to send my DDE back yet to get this tuned out, but JR has agreed to do it for free. I do appreciate their excellent customer service.
