Well, I -would- be going to the Centennial one, but unfortunately I have Shotokan lessons until about 8:00pm, so unless you guys end up staying rather late, I'm afraid I'll have to miss this one.
I might drive by just to see if anyone is still there, but I kind of doubt people will stick around for that long.

Post up if anyone goes to the 16th meet? I'm in Cali during the week so I can't make any of the others.

Damn, I will have to go clean my car I guess since I just got back from my road trip to Louisville, KY (for the Derby) yesterday. Got just a few bugs. Maybe it would be funny to drive it there without washing it, lol.

So did you guys show up at the BBN last night? How was it?
I didn't get out of Shotokan training until 8:30pm, so there was no way in hell anyone would still be there by the time I got down there. I'm thinking I'll try to make one of the ones next week, probably the Friday one @ Littleton.

Yeah, I made it down there. Only 6 cars showed up, I think the dark clouds scared some off, but 335trackaddict was there too. That and unless you get the emails, the official schedule on the RMCBMWCCA website did not list yesterdays burger meets for some reason. I will be going to the SW Littleton one as well on the 16th.

Yeah it was good seeing you guys again. No joke, it was my first time at a Sonic, so I was a bit confused on the ordering process, lol.
I'm not going to make the one on the 16th because I'm headed to the track for a NASA event. Since I'll be on track that whole weekend, I'm going to miss the BMW car control clinic. I've "transferred" my spot to someone else in the past, so if one of you guys want to take my 8:30am spot, let me know. In fact, I think I have *two* spots in the CCC because I signed up for both track days, May30 and June1. You have to be a BMWCCA member to take my spot, but it's worth it b/c it's fun as hell to drive on the wet skidpad. |

Can one of us take your spot that isn't going to Pueblo?

No, you don't have to go to Pueblo to do the CCC. You do have to be a BMWCCA member ($40 annually, I think).
If you're interested in taking my spot, just email the RMC BMW folks and ask them if it's OK. I've transferred it before so I can't imagine there will be a problem. |

Yeah I got my first Roundel too! It is worth it! I cant wait to get more....Hey guys I have a problem too. So next sunday is the only CCC for Pueblo? I have my reserver drill that weekend so I am trying to move things around but it is not that easy. I am told that this is mandatory if you are going to Pueblo?

No, the Car Control Clinic isn't mandatory for attending the Spring Drive @ Pueblo, but it is highly recommended if it's your first HPDE. You get a good feel for the limits of your car prior to taking it to the track. However, if you are unable to make it, you should still be okay, so long as you don't go nuts and fly off the track (unless you like getting a stern lecture from Mr. Andrew Jordan).
Oh, don't forget a helmet! Snell 2000 rating or better! (I don't know about you, but I don't exactly care for rented helmets....)

You can get a motorcycle helmet instead of a car helmet, if you so choose, which are typically a little bit cheaper. I believe most Wal-Marts sell some Bell helmets for around $60-70. I picked mine up from Fay Myers a couple years back for about $100, if memory serves. So long as it's Snell 2000 rated or higher, you should be fine. (Snell M2000 for motorcycle, SA2000 for automotive sports.)
(Just a thought, but it would probably be better to get a Snell 2005 rated helmet, as I believe the CCA requires you to get a new helmet 10 years after the year of the rating, so a Snell 2000 helmet might not be acceptable after 2010.) And before we this thread any further, let's start a new topic if you guys have any further questions regarding helmets.
