Anyone tried HAWK High Performance Street / Race pads?

I want brake pads better than stock, but no race pads

I think this is a perfect solution

What do you think?

Or do you recommend something else according to personal experience?

I do not use the car that much, but when I use it I drive it fast (allowed in my country) or go to the track for sporty driving

I want something that brakes better and the pedal doesn't fade (happened to me already), but do not want squeeling pads as race pads usually do

Thanks for the advise!

Never been a fan of Hawk...is PFC making the Z-rated pad for the m2 caliper?

The Street/Race pads are "race" pads which I believe used to be marketed as the DTC-30. I may have not used enough anti-squeal, but had plenty of squeal on the streets with the Hawk pads and went through them in 3 track days. I haven't used the PFC Z rated pads but have been impressed with the PFC 08 compound on track. Long story short I wouldn't recommend those particular Hawk pads for the street.

Having tried on several cars to find the "perfect balance" of street and track pad I'll tell you it doesnt exist. First off what are you doing that you're getting fade on the stock pads? I don't care how fast you can go, legally or not, if you're driving hard enough to get fade on public roads you're probably going to kill someone eventually. If you're tracking it then just get a set of decent track pads.

1. They are ridiculously easy to swap out on your own.

2. Most brands offer a good endurance pad that will last much longer than a compromise pad, and therefore be cheaper in the long run.

3. The confidence you will have on track that your pads will be there when you need them is worth every penny and more.

Hawk performance street/race pad is basically a DTC30 race pad with a backing plate to quiet them down. I leave my DTC60's in all the time. They squeal but have decent cold bite.

Take a look at the Porterfield R4S pad as well. It has been around for a long time and with lots of happy customers.

I would not get HPS or HPS 5.0 if you like the bite of the OEM pad; they don't have it. The HP+ has bite but a lot of noise and dust.

There isn't a great compromise pad for street and track. It really depends how hard you are driving it on the track and how much noise, dust, and possible loss of cold bite you are willing to tolerate on the street.

Porterfield R4S is good as a street pad though.

Agreed on the HP+ on bite, noise, and dust.

Can't beat Porterfield R4S as a performance street pad.
