New injector for $290 oem

Bought this from ebay. Guy is in the UK but I received it in 2 days! After my purchase I was contacted from the seller to give the last 7 of the vin so he could send the exact injector. Put it in and works great. New and oem bosche. This was the cheapest price I found so I was a little skeptical but everything worked out great. I will purchase from here again as I know that I will need more.

Little over 110k miles on the car. I put it in thinking I was going to have to code it to the system but it started up and ran fine so I havent done anything else yet.

What's the normal life of original injectors?

Not sure of life, probably depends on environment and fuel. I had to replace 5 and 6 due to bmw crap plastic on the x5 causing water leaks and corrosion. After coding, when I look at injector smooth running control (how dde balances injectors) they are all with + - 0.8, with the range allowed iirc of + - 4.0. 105k, and not much variance between new and old makes me think they last quite a while!

Is it certain that these do not require software like OP said. Or do you reset adaptations?

You need Rheingold/ista to code the injectors but I was fine with not coding for a week. I made the mistake of looking at the wrong code, which didn't want to take. They're both 7 letters/numbers, haha, go figure.

Some cars may have a rough idle without the calibration codes from the injectors entered in.

Which code do you need to look at? And is it possible to see the code without pulling the injector?

I've had what I would describe as a rough idle ever since I bought the car. Not excessive, but just feels more rough than I think it should be. Injectors were replaced like 80k miles ago before I owned the car, and before BMW knew that CBU was the root cause. I wouldn't be surprised if my useless dealership didn't recode them.

Intake will be off in the next two weeks for glow plugs and glow plug module, I figure I can try to recode them and see if that corrects the issue.

The code is facing up ward, if you can look is near the nut for the fuel line. Next to the bar code you see it in this picture.

In this case it's 8887ASG, right?

I think there are alot of variables that come in here. Hard to say what the life expectancy is on stock injectors. I do know using good Diesel and changing the Fuel Filter often should extend the life of the injectors.

Yes it's 8887ASG.
I messed up first time using the other 7 digit code on the side, lol. ISTA and tool32 both didn't like that code.

Filtration is definitely important. I carried over my 1 micron filter from my TDI. It's tight but I fit it in front of the stock filter with a custom mount using a big hose clamp to hold it on and ran the line from stock into this filter, then this filter to the line that used to be on stock filter. Not sure what kind of room the 335d has, but the x5 has room there, just be careful to have space away from the front driveshaft!

Head is from nicktane: http://nicktane.com/ they have 2 types of threads, one for the cat filters and the 1 12 for the synthetic microglass filters.
Filter is this one: Filter 1 Micron 1" 12 UNF 3/4" Flow 300BHA-01
Part Number: 70025 CIM-TEK
http://www.petrocatalog.com/70025
Even though they say 50 psi max, there's no problem on our systems that run 4-5 bar (48-60 psi).
In some calculations based on the fuel use of the 35d, it can easily last 40k miles, especially since the stock filter is doing pre filtering!

I think that this type of topic will start gaining traction. With all of our cars getting up in miles. Gosh, I haven't driven my car in 7 weeks. Quote"The tip of the injector has microscopic holes through which the fuel will be delivered that create a very fine mist. The droplet size of the fuel as it is sent through the tip is about 7 times smaller than a human hair." ugh..good grief.

FYI....I used my cheapo Android endoscope and got all 6 injector codes without pulling anything....

I had to because......my mechanics apparently forgot to code them....such a joke...

I used my android endoscope too but it should be visible from top. If anything you can use a small mirror to look around the back side of the injector line nut if needed.

Cyls 5 and 6 would be AWFULLY tough to do without a camera unless you take all your front cowl off......And I guess thats not that big of a deal, but I left everything in place...

the worst part is that INPA or any diagnostic system can't tell if injector went wrong or not, unless there is an electrical fault...however these injectors fail mechanically and that you only know when u take it off and send it to the specialist to test them....BMW's are crap...many owners said they are the worst for maintenance and reliability....

Infector balance tells a lot, in ista it is called smooth running control. It can tell how much fuel each injector needs to run the engine smoothly. I used that on my vw tdi to diagnose things too.

You really are forgetting that other cars, like vw had injector issues too. Also with direct injection gas this happens on them too. Direct injection puts more responsibility on the injectors.

Why do you still hang out here, a BMW forum? Go piss in someone else's cereal.
