Do you find the stereo sound volumn very low?

Is it just me or has anyone else found the stereo volume is very low.
I have my volume set to almost the highest point but still find it low.

Also, in my X5 with the HK system, I can adjust the sound setting with a build in EQ which i notice the M2 don't have.

THANK GOD SOMEONE ELSE POSTED THIS. I thought it was me......

It's loud enough most of the time but if you have the windows open you have to turn it almost all the way up to hear it very well. With the windows closed it almost loud enough to drown out the sound of my kids complaining in the back seat LOL.

Yes I'm disappointed with the HK. It's ok a low speed or standstill but looses detail and bass at speed. Sure the ASD has something to do with it but not got round to disabling that. One thing I do notice is how loud it appears to be from outside, guess that's the lack of sound proof material.

Same here, but I listen to a lot of podcasts and blame it on them and my phone.

I like the window open too, which doesn't help.

In the stereo forum, guys say when they code out the ASD the stereo gets a lot louder. That makes a lot of sense. The only problem is that it seems to be a tad tricky to get the ASD back if you want it. You have to do a restore, or something.

I'm betting the stereo sounds better without ASD. Think about it. 1 system trying to do 2 things, music and "exhaust". At some point they've got to clash. A speaker can only move one way at a time.

The asd elimination harness doesn't make it any louder. Sorry to disappoint you. However it does make for a better listening environment!

Which bluetooth app have you installed - was it for an iPhone?

What app????? I need that. CRTV app has low volume for some reason. EIB has plenty of volume. Youtube not too bad. But I connect with the USB. I'll have to try the Bluetooth and see if it's louder. with Crowder.

Depends on the source for me and whether it's USB or Bluetooth. I have the ASD coded off by the way, as that alone requires 25% more volume for same hearing experience.

Using USB, I've found both music and podcasts are medium to low volume, with podcasts slightly lower, but both are listenable at highway speeds at a volume setting of 50% or less.

Using Bluetooth, music is blaringly loud, less than 25% volume setting at highway speed. Podcasts are extremely quiet and usually require more than 75% volume setting.

I'm using an iPhone 6S, with EQ turned off.

App is called Bluetooth Volume, just search in the app store for "bluetooth volume booster". I have Android, assume Apple would have the same app or something similar.

Theres always Bavsound. Wouldn't be my first choice in speakers as I prefer Hertz components but I did try it in my E36 M3 and was happy with the results and the plug N play in the stock location was nice. No amp kit put out by them yet like they have for other models so it may not solve the issue being discussed

One thing I noticed was if you play music through XM radio the bass frequency hits lot harder vs bluetooth. I don't think the car's bluetooth is APTX which kind of sucks.

I have noticed this as well. For me the volume on radio and satellite is decent; however, I have to crank the volume almost all the way up when I play music from my phone via USB. I have checked the volume settings on my phone and the volume is turned up. Really disappointed with the audio.

Cheapest / easiest fix without getting into actually replacing anything is a DMP like FiiO X1 with its own amp plugged directly into aux-in. No controls integrated with car so that sucks, but for $100 and some time loading up FLAC or other lossless files you can dramatically improve both volume and quality of sound.
