Bmw warranty
My approved used warranty is just about to expire and I'm considering signing up for Bmw's extended warranty. Has anyone got any experience of it? Is it worth it and importantly, for me anyway, does the comprehensive warranty cover a DPF failure?
Any feedback gratefully received. |

Reading my policy document, it doesn't seem to specifically exclude the DPF (comprehensive cover), it does exclude catalytic converters though.
If it's that critical to you, then I'd suggest phoning them up and getting a definitive answer directly. |

I have it & i just extended it for an uncle for £620 (335D XDRIVE with no excess), don't know about DPF & in case you don't know breakdown IS included as standard you just don't get cover if you are under 1/2 mile from your home, abroad cover & onward travel (no courtesy car), for an additional £83 you get full cover. Some may say ask for discount but i tried my best with out success, if you take out a warranty from the dealer you might get a better price just make sure the two are the same in whats covered, BMW direct will not budge on the price.

I renewed mine after the AUC warranty expired
For a 2012 328i with less than 60k miles it's £47/month to cover everything but £250 excess Really just wanted peace of mind in case anything big goes bang, eg engine, turbo, transmission, idrive etc. ALso includes breakdown cover which I would have to pay for anyway To be honest it's made me think there might be some sense in going the lease / PCP route next time as if you were to add on the cost of the zero-excess warranty to what it's costing in depreciation etc might mean a monthly cost close to a new one. |

Phoned them today and the DPF is covered under there comprehensive cover, so either £47 a month or £417 for the year including break down, that's with a £250 excess. For peace of minds sake think I'm going to have to do it..... it's cheaper than warranty direct anyway....
