H&R F31 330d Lowering - Any Experiences?

Hi all,

Looking into lowering my F31 at some point. On my E91 325d I went with Bilstein B8's combined with some H&R springs, and the drop was literally perfect for my needs!

I see H&R offer a 45mm lowering option for the F31, but its unclear if thats a 45mm drop front and rear!

Anyone have any experiences with them?

the super sports are a no go to low and to stiff. the normal sports are fine i have them on my f32.

when you comapre to ACS they are stiffer and lower a touch more.

depends what you are after. if you want an inbetween eibach spring are what you want

ACS seem to lower the car more on the rear than the front based on the limited photos I can find online!

I have found a picture of the 45mm drop on a non-xdrive 330d, and it looks bloody good - exactly what I'm after!

Are your H&R's the 20-25mm version?

Any pics?

I've got H&R sports on mine and they're fine, humps can be a problem if not careful but then again the lip doesn't help!

Are you changing the dampers too? If not then I'd say its a bad move handling wise, as the standard dampers are garbage and you'll be hitting the bump stops with that drop.

On my E91 I fitted Bilstein B8 Sprints with H&R 35mm front / 20mm rear. I changed the dampers for the reasons you mention!!

I have since found this F31, and the owner tells me it's a 25mm drop front & rear. I'm sure the stock shocks could handle that without and concerns?

I went for the ACS sports suspension kit for my F31, comprising springs and dampers. ACS says it lowers the car by around 15mm (X-Drive 25mm). Obviously that will vary from car to car, but I'm pleased as punch with the result. I certainly wouldn't want it any lower. Since the photo below was taken, it's all settled a bit and is probably lower still by a nat's cock.

If you did decide to go this route, bare in mind this is a passive set-up so not suitable for cars with adaptive suspension.

Hi R99 - Sorry read thru some old post as I'm looking to lower my LCI F31 with has M Sport suspension/springs with 19" Rims.

The image you have I assume these are HR's. Do you know if the rims are on 19" or 20" ?

Im trying to figure the the spring setup on each model before I consider lowering it to 20mm or 40mm on existing suspension (I have M Apadative)

I think my M Sport is 10mm lower than the basic models (Luxury/Standard/Sports)

Any one could help would be appreciated. Cheers

Ps Attached my current car, Im thinking lowering to HR 20mm would close the gap....and 40mm may rub....The image with orange rim protector is something Im looking. Lowered because it had bags of concrete at bunnings.
