Changing EGR cooler vs EGR delete
I have a 2005 E90 M47 with AT.
Currently i have a lot of pressure inside the coolant circuit which may come either from: HG or EGR cooler. So, if it will be proved to be the EGR cooler, that part alone costs around 250 Euros + labor. In my opinion it will be a good moment to delete the entire EGR with only 90 Euros total. A few questions: - does this seems reasonable ? - is ok to delete EGR but keep the catalytic converter and DPF ? ( this will cost 200 Euros to remove ) Thanks |

If your engine if similar to the M57 you can bypass the EGR and cooler with appropriate hardware but you will need a software/tune change to remove the inevitable "check engine light" popping up.
