https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/lif...r-s67109031201 Cheapest place you'll find it. You need a computer to do the fluid change though as you have to monitor the fluid temp. My indy mechanic did it for $200 so out the door I was about $500 in total. My local dealer told me the trans flush was $1200 so if your dealer will do it for $500, I suggest you jump on that price. Also if you take your car to any of the places you listed, good luck because those places shouldn't even be changing your oil. |

I'll be replacing mine with Redline D6 when the time comes. Both better and cheaper.

How will I know when it's time to replace tranny fluid? Is it normally at 50k miles or will I feel symptoms when shifting or regular driving?
I have the sport auto tranny Thanks

Dang, BMW oil changes are insane man. I think 45-50k is a very good point to change the transmission fluids. You can feel the car shifting lil different in my opinion. But I could be wrong. But thanks for all your help guys. I appreciate the input.

MY SA just informed me BMW says the fluid is for the life time of the car...There is no way that transmission fluid can last this long, and still be in good condition. I never heard anyone say don't need to change it until I spoke with my SA...he said its going to run about 800$ for full flush. has anyone had same type of things said to them ?

BMW considers the fluid "lifetime" but they also don't consider these cars to go past 100K miles. What's funny is BMW considers the fluid lifetime, but will recommend you get the trans flushed and filter changed at 70K.
You should change your fluid and filter around 70K or don't do it at all. |
