'Flat' spot of paint

Washed the car today and noticed that on one of the wings, there is a dull, almost matt, round spot of paintwork, probably about 50mm in diameter. It even feels like a matt paint, rather than a soft glossiness.

I've not noticed it before and I think I've just happened to clean it at a time when the sun is reflecting in the right place and it has shown up.

I've tried to take a photo, but it doesn't show up.

At some point, the car will be being detailed - should I just wait and speak to the detailer for them to correct?

Any thoughts what it might be?!

Car is only 5 weeks old - I didn't have it prepped by dealer and so far I've protected the paint with a coat of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection and a few of coats of Aqua Wax.

Cheers

Take it back to the dealer. Unacceptable for a 5 week old car

I bet it's had a "smart" repair & a very poor finish was achieved.

Interesting point. They didn't mention anything, but I guess they might have tried to get away with it!!

It might be where there was a scratch and they flattened it using wet and dry and forgot ro polish out sand marks. If it was a dealer in coventry im not surprised. I saw atleaat 5 cars on the forecourt where they flattened a scratch out but didnt machine the sandmarks out.

Thanks - not Coventry, but it's good to get an idea of what may have happened. Ive emailed the dealer to give him chance to 'fess up if anything was done!
