Nice Free App for BMW's
Hi folks, Just would like to share my find of free android app for bmw that i found recently and its called DeepOBD.Its a nice app to read fault codes and monitor parameters. It can also log data and can create trace file but i haven't played with it yet. It's fully customisable.Basically it works like tools32 and ediabas to retrieve the values out from the module.
I liked carly buy recently it stopped working properly on my generic ELM327 adapter.Looks like carly is forcing users to buy their own adapters. I am attaching the screenshot which i created while monitoring parameters on my X5 35D using generic ELM327 bluetooth adapter. Not sure if its available for IOS. I am attaching the already configured files for M57(with permission) by the author.Unzip the config.zip folder to your external SD card and then go to menu-->configuration--->go to config folder on your sd card and select E90Bt.cccfg (if you are using bluetooth adapter) from E90 folder and E90Ftdi.cccfg(only if you are using cable). It will then populate all the parameters shown in my screenshot automatically. That looks awesome. I too gave up on iCarly after the update directed me to buy an overpriced OBD2 adapter -- for the second time. The Foxwell NT510 is pretty cool though.

so a couple questions
can the gen 2 Carly Bluetooth adapter be used? aside from pulling codes and viewing parameters and logging them. what else can it do? for example, can it run the fuel pump like edibas? |

Is there a specific elm327 adapter that works better than others? I see a few different types on ebay, different interfaces too, bluetooth wifi etc.
Id hate to buy it and find that it's very laggy as was my experence a while back with a wired adapter i bought.
