If you don't mind an hour's drive, I used to take My E36 to Deutschmarque down hear in Edinburgh. They did a reasonable job and not too expensive if I remember.

By Indy, you mean Independant? Does it have to be a specialist, or any decent garage for servicing etc?

Yeah independent, basically a recommended, decent garage that does bm's and can update service log. Options, before i bite the bullet and take it to John Clark. Coming from a VW and pretty clueless about the complexities of BMW servicing

I have been using the following for a number of years, along with a few people that I know (family and friends). They are not BMW specialist by any imagination, but they are good. Most importantly, the owner, Murdo, is honest and won't rip you off. He himself worked in a Mercedes garage for many years and is usually aware of many of the BMW traits etc etc.

Cheers bud, i've spoken to Murdo already and seems like a good guy over the phone, so was a maybe for me. Do they update service log?

The Service Log which is done electronically in the F3x cars? I have no idea, I just bought my F31 last week. Previous to that I had an E90, which had the standard paper service booklet that needed stamped.

Best check with him in regards to that bud.
