Side light and headlight bulbs

Dear forum members,

My son has a 2014 m sport 320d. He has standard lights fitted and does not like the 'yellow' bulbs that are fitted. Could forum members recommend some bulbs that would produce a whiter light and improve the functionality of the lights?

Many thanks,
Ade

Here's a link to a good website :

www.atobulbsdirect.co.uk

LED fog lights : H8CRW-2

I'll try and find the part number for silver indicator bulbs

If you mean the low and high beam bulbs then check out this test, if he wants to improve both low and high beam he will need 2 pairs of bulbs:

I'd say the Osram NBU's at just £12.85 a pair now is the best bang for buck: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EPLCP..._P.oTzb2MJVT0S

All in the manual, lows and highs are H7 and parking lights are H6W:

Ive upgraded my DRL, side and reverse bulbs LED, they look much better but make the main and dipped beam look yellow, i changed my dipped beam osram night breaker laser and they are brighter and whiter but not enough compared to the LED bulbs. Im going to change the dipped for some Phillips diamond vision because there supposed to be brighter.

I've just fitted a set of these LED bulbs for low beam and have to say they are fantastic, very bright and of course exceptionally white and only £30 or there are cheaper ones.

I did need to get a adapter clip to hold them in (or could have modified the ones that hold the standard bulbs in but wanted to be able to put those back if required.

I think they are technically illegal though.

I can recommend Philips Diamond vision, or crystal vision bulbs.
Had them on my F30 foglights, and a close match for my Xenon headlights.
Also had them on my previous X3 headlights and fog lights (but think only crystal vision existed back then).
Both a good white light.

Yes, they are good quality bulbs (were often the top performers in Autoexpress tests), but still fairly "yellow". I upgraded to them at first on my 2007 X3 (from crappy stock H7 bulbs), but then upgraded to the Crystal/Diamond vision later, as those were a much whiter light. Xenons were a must have on my 3 series, then M140 (now LED's).

Really depends on whether appearance or function are more important, because I'm sure the whiter bulbs are, then there is a reduction in performance (due to the blue coating that make them whiter). Personally, I found both Crystal and Diamond vision bulbs were fine.

Dear forum members,
Thanks for all the advice, my son replaced his bulbs with the white vision. The colour was more important than the performance.

He is now looking to change the drls, can anyone recommend a white drl? If led can people post a link to any they recommend and let me know how bright and reliable they are?

Many thanks,
Ade
