430d mpg

Hi all,

Wondered what mpg everyone is getting on the 30d engines?

I'm averaging around 35mpg tank to tank with a mix of motorway and city driving and a little disappointed as thought I'd be getting early 40's.

Car has done around 9k so far.

Cheers!

Hi - I have got 36.6 mpg average out of every 330d I have had - sdrive or xdrive seem to make no difference - its always 36.6 mpg !!!!!!! Mixture of stop start town traffic and dual carriageway and the odd motorway long run, however I don't hang about and have a very heavy right foot !!!!!!! LOL

Only had my 330d for just over a year but my average is 40.7mpg. This includes a lot of start stop traffic on the daily commute.

Amazing differences here I think. I live in flatland (Newmarket) and drive 80% on fast a roads and the worst I ever get is around 42mpg, but average around 44. I've never had less than 40mpg. A run up to Chester at the weekend averaged 51mpg with the heavy speed limit controls in place.
I used to live near Huddersfield where you are stop starting all the time. Up hill, down hill, round abouts, traffic lights etc.. In the St 200 I had at the time I was averaging 20mpg, and moving to Cambridge it went to 28mpg.
For me, the local terrain makes the most difference to real world mph. .

31 in mine. Either her driving it around town stop start, or me spanking it because I rarely drive now.

430d not sure of long term average but always get 45mpg+ with all my journeys being very long and on the motorway or fast A roads.

Done 17k miles in the last 6 months and it is deeply impressive how economical the car is. Any long journeys with a 50mph av speed camera and I easily get 50mpg+

Mines a 63 plate and to be honest I spend most of my time in comfort. Tried eco once and hated it! I reserve sport for when the wife's not in the car....

37 long-term average, over say 45K miles. That includes a lot of motorway miles but I do have a heavy right foot.

Received the car in June and have never reset the computer which is showing 41.7. Some motorway driving, through town commuting and A road. Absolutely love the car and performance is great although about to order the MPPK!

I had an (old model) 530d Lux tourer on loan the other week for 3 days. A free-flowing motorway trip up to Glasgow and back, it averaged 51 mpg real figure (it was filled up for me before I left, and I topped it up after the trip). Set the cruise on 75 and left it there.

Incredibly impressed. Especially as it probably had a quarter tonne of documents in the back on the way back.

Best I've seen is an indicated 60mpg on a steady/boring motorway cruise doing a steady 70 with just me in a car, in my defence I had a hangover from a stag do the night before.

What tyres are people running? We have recently changed my wife's Mini Countrymans tyres from run flats to normal tyres and have noticed better fuel economy
