My next X

Last Friday I ordered my next X a 2018 X3 xDrive 30i. In 2010, I ordered my second BMW a 2011 X3 xDrive35i and took delivery January 2011. I miss that ride a lot. The 2011 X3 was a good size for my needs, very powerful in 35i variation, sounded great and handled well. At that point in time I spec'd the ride with only leather, heated front seats and the cargo package. The 35i had standard LED halos and xenon headlights and I thought it looked good. Don't remember why car technology and options weren't very important to me. Maybe it was the cost or it being my second BMW. I was even okay with the no charge Jet Black paint which was painful to keep looking good.

This time around I chose the 30i because it will be powerful enough for me and I'm lucky to have a M3. It will replace my 2016 X1. Plus I really don't drive much since I left the suburbs and use public transit and ride sharing services most of the time. I wanted certain features with this car that had me checking boxes to get things I wished were independent options. I wanted M sport brakes so I had to get a package. I wanted icon headlights so I had to get another package. So here is my build.

G01 2018 X3 xDrive30i
A90 dark graphite
MAMU mocha leather
4K9 aluminum trim
25Y tires run flat
ZCV conv
ZDA assistance
ZDH handling
ZPP prem

November 9 update. Good news my X3 30i was released to the VPC and will be available for me to pick up on Thanksgiving week but the bad news my X3 30i ordered with the dynamic handling package which includes dynamic damper control, M Sport brakes, Performance Control and Variable sport steering will be showing up without the adjustable dampers. Apparently a batch of 50 were made without. Not the end of the world. They offered to order a replacement but I don't want to wait five more weeks. I'll take the 1,000 credit for the missing dampers and move on.

Most of the things you wanted comes standard on the M40i, with all the packages you picked you're in M40 territory price wise, you should opt for the M40.

Valid point for about $6,000 more I could have the increased performance. But I kinda like the xLine and I'm lucky to have a M3

Thanks. Excited to have it. More grown up from my 2011 X3 and trade in 2016 X1. The tech is pretty amazing and the sports seat are awesome. Looking for a reason to drive it later tonight for its first night time ride
