ARB

Just curious, has anyone upgraded theirs? Any thoughts on the change(s)?

Was it only the turn in that was affected, anything else?

I have made a few ARB changes over the years:

from 12mm rear bar to 13mm rear bar
from 13mm rear bar to Birds ARBs
From Birds ARBs to a 15mm rear bar from M135i and back to standard front(at the same time as going from ACS springs to the full ACS RS coilovers)

Love how it is now, and would recommend the 15mm rear bar to anyone with a desire to neutralise the understeer considerably.

I have the M140i rear ARB fitted and it makes a big difference in cornering stability as other have said. (I also have ACS Spring) However the ARB has also brought another difference for me.
Before I was forever using SPORT mode as the handling in COMFORT was not up to my expectations. But now the handling in COMFORT is much better. So I now use the Gear stick left to change into sports gearing and often just leave it in COMFORT. I find the mode button selector awkward and I usually have to take eye off the road to find it. Now its much better.

tempted by this too, I have ACS springs but there is still a bit of body roll, does it eliminate this?

I think I paid around the £150 mark.

Plus one to how good a mod this is.

My new 435D now has 15mm ARB as standard and i have to say body roll is a lot less that the 330D s-drive it replaced (12mm std?)

I would also say it's a good move based on that.

Interesting... good that BMW are paying attention to what some of us have had to do to make up for their failings.

Maybe I should bill them for my consultancy fees asa chassis engineer, and ask them for a job...

And retrospectively bill them for the work I had to do to my own car!

That's interesting .... I'm picking up a new 335d Touring on Monday & getting ACS springs fitted at Rossiters the following day.

Does the 335d now have 15mm ARB now too?

Not sure sorry. I would try it before commiting. Mine does look high but it handles OK. Undecided on the ACS right now.

I've pushed the button & have got it all booked up!

After spending many months researching the springs to death, I'm very confident that I'll be happy with the result.

All the people on here that have helped me make the decision to spend the cash are to blame anyway ;-))) ... seriously, I know it'll be good!

It'll be a bonus if the car now comes standard with 15mm ARB's

I'm also going to keep an eye on the new adaptive Bilstein shocks that are shortly to be developed by Rossiters.
