Manual map update NBT EVO 2017-3 **UPDATE!**

Apologies if this particular nav map question has already been answered. I've tried looking through some previous threads but can't see the one I was looking for, for some unknown reason

Like a lot of you guys out there I'm becoming increasingly irritated with BMWs 'Automatic OTA Map Updates' which in my case don't seem to want to play. So decided to plunge headlong into the murky world of downloads, etc (mostly witchcraft to me I'm afraid!), however, following BMWs connected drive website instructions am currently downloading the NBT EVO 2017-3 map update for my car.

I downloaded this a couple of days ago and was all set to transfer it to my brand spanking new Sandisk 32GB USB which apparently has 30+GB of free space available for a Europe map of some 26+GB...so why does the 'pop-up box' say not enough space....poxy thing!

HELP!

Finally worked!........Using a completely blank new 64GB USB.....a right bloody faff on though!

I understand space is required to un-zip the file. My 2017-2 map was a bit smaller and did fit on the 32GB USB stick. I'm aware of others with later builds had bigger map files and required 64GB.

Just checked the BMW update manager thingy and the map is 20% downloaded and has about an hour before it's finished!
Think I'll go and make a cup of coffee (would start drinking beer preferably but don't want to be half pissed when it finishes or else I could balls it up again!)
Especially since I've just gone and purchased ,yet another, USB drive...this time 64GB.
Incidentally what does it need to formatted in...FAT32?....That's what 'the man from BMW customer services' said!!??
