Deleting CEL

I'm looking forward on getting a catless downpipe. Since Jb4's latest firmware doesn't delete CEL is there any other way of getting rid of it besides getting the car tuned? Would i also need a charge pipe with the downpipe?

Please try searching a little bit next time. There are literally two posts about this on the first page of this sub.

An ECU tune can remove it and there are o2 simulators out there that could remove it.

I'm also selling a JB4 in the classified section that still has the old firmware if that is the route you want to take

Also, no you do not need a charge pipe to run a downpipe. Many people get one as a security as the stock charge pipe is plastic and prone to cracking. I don't know the actual number of broken stock charge pipes on the N20/N26 however, it seems to be more of an issue with the N55 crowd.

As an anecdote, I haven't any problems with my stock charge pipe on JB4 Map 1 and catless downpipe....yet

You'll want a CP if you're going to run Map 2 off the JB4 as you're pushing more boost through the stock CP otherwise if you leave it stock. Numerous posts here and around the web where users ran Map 2 with a stock CP and it cracked. Map 1 as MONSTAR stated should be ok. I upgraded my CP just to be on the cautious side as my ride is my only one and downtime to having it fixed if I didn't replace it isn't something I could afford time-wise. I also upgraded my FMIC as well.
