E90 Center Console Oddments Tray Measurements

As title asks, does anyone with the oddments tray (part number: 51169198283) know the internal dimensions of the tray at the bottom? It seems sloped and I am wondering if I can fit my iPhone 8 Plus in it without it being tilted. I want to purchase this tray and modify a Qi wireless charger to the bottom so I can wirelessly charge my phone, but I need the phone to be sitting flat on the bottom of the tray.

Much appreciated!

It will not fit.
My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is much smaller than even the regular iPhone 8 and it barely fits in that tray. Your iPhone 8 plus would just be like a large lid for that small tray. I had the iPhone 6S when I first got my car and that phone fit inside the tray with a slant.

An iPhone 5 is actually the perfect size for that.

Thanks! I figured that it’d be too if just judging by the current ashtray dimensions. Do you know what the dimensions are lengthwise? If I cannot for the phone widthwise, then I think I may build in the wireless Qi charger at an angle such that I can get the phone in at an angle relative to the tray, but still parallel to the Qi charger.

Make a card board template and keep trimming until you mock up what you're trying to figure out. Old school way👍

Would an iPhone X fit in there?
