Honestly
This is the cheapest and most important safety feature of a car. Esp if you have the 19" rims. I know some will say if a criminal wants something they will take it, but locks may slow them down or deter them altogether.

I was disappointed that wheel locks weren't even an option at the dealership! I'll definitely be getting a set when I get my M3.

Yes, I blieve so. Wheel theft country, I guess. The special lock key is palced in the tool box with some of the other BMW tools and a second key is handed to you at delivery.

i have 2 sets, one from dealer, one aftermarket (top one).

The problem is if they really want to steal your wheels, at least here, they will come one night, and make copies of the lock. Then they come back another time, and take them off in 2 minutes and leave the car on blocks, and if not lucky, just on brake disks. So the wheel locks are good deterrent only for the stupid mofos and junkies. Not against pros.

I will be heading to BMW parts for a set...came standard on my (less expensive) 535i ...was very surprised a $78K car didn't come with wheel locks, floor mats, factory alarm, or even the first aid/tool kit I don't even recall seeing these things being a part of available options when I was specing out my M....

I usually put them on when I get aftermarket rims. But My friends condo complex was hit recently and in the morning 4 BMWs were on blocks and none of the other cars (including his new Infinity).

I did not even leave the Dealership in my new M3 until I had locks on.

bmw wheel locks are pretty much useless, if a thief is professional enough, they'll have all the keys of the wheel locks which can be easily obtained

i am planning to also add a set of mcgard wheel locks on

Definitely, w/ aftermarket wheels or OEM. you dont want your car sitting on 4 pieces of brick/rock/wood.

Although it doesn't guarantee 100% security, it definitely adds to it. You can never have too much protection, so I would definitely get it. The RAD Wheel locks are very popular wheel locks.
