I have searched for days and days with nothing except looking at VIN numbers and parts on the real oem website. Did anything change on the IDrive systems from 2011 to 2013? When did bluetooth streaming audio become available on idrive? I don't want to buy a 2011 335is if the 2012 or 2013 has better Nav on it or has Bluetooth.

2011s got a combox for bluetooth streaming mid-2011. You'll have to look at the VIN to tell, there's not really any other way to know.

I have a 2011 IS, it came with Bluetooth streaming. Chances are it'll have it.

My early 11 does not have bluetooth streaming.

I believe 6FL was available as an option (USB)

My 04/11 Build Date model 335i xDrive CIC
has combox and bluetooth streaming out the factory.

If you are interested in Bluetooth streaming mostly; You shouldn't have to worry for you have the option of Retrofitting a Combox for E9x cars with Cic Nav. BMW phased in CIC Nav from 2009 upwards to EOP for e9x. MY11 - 13 had better options with Bluetooth streaming and BMW Apps. Telematics on these cars are disabled/defunct at this point so that benefit is gone.

I guess no one really answered this question, are the CIC nav systems from 2011 to 2013 pretty much the same, in other words did BMW update the nav systems to a new model at all?

The e9x model almost ends in 2012 with only the coupe continuing
in 2013 . What went into the F30 first I don't know but there is a system
beyond what was in the last 2012 model called the NBT.

I believe there are different levels of software with different features all through the series this is discussed on the coding sub forum and idrive forum.Mostly Internet related stuff .

You have to have idrive to have streaming even if you have combox

The 2011-2013 335is all use the same CIC/Nav system. The only difference being that early 2011 production, I think prior to Sept 2010, didn't have the combox necessary for BT streaming. All you have to do is run a potential car's VIN through a decoder like this one, http://bimmer.work/ and look for 6VC Control Combox in the Options section. If it's there you're good to go.

That's not true, there is a 2013 335is Convertible
