2011 E93 335i, Lack of power when accelerating. Requesting help diagnosing
Good evening. I’m hoping someone may be able to help me with a problem that I’m having with my E93 335i. Some details on the car:
Roughly 500 miles ago I began to notice a lack of power when I would give the car gas to pass someone at highway speeds. I can consistently replicate the issue if I’m driving the car at 60mph, and I give it a substantial amount of gas where I would typically feel power from the turbo, and quickly accelerate to 75mph. The car feels sluggish, like the turbo isn’t producing power, and the check engine light immediately comes on (picture of engine, “half full”) and remains on until the car is turned off. I brought the car to Rennsport Motor Works in Hackensack NJ (http://rennsportmotorworks.com/) and after what seemed to me to be a substantial amount of diagnostics work (a few days), they focused on the eight occurrences of the “charging pressure control” failures, and replaced the boost pressure sensor. Below is a link to the invoice for the work performed and details of the diagnostics. Link: https://goo.gl/x8s9oZ Five minutes after I left the shop, I attempted to recreate the issue and was able to do it on the first try. I dropped the car back in the shop the next day. We’ll see what the shop comes up with as they continue to diagnose, but I’m losing confidence and rather perplexed. Does anyone have any experience with an issue like this? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by E93msport; 10-16-2017 at 03:56 AM.. |

Has anyone had success having a dealership honor the extended 7 year 70,000 mile warranty on defective parts covered under the California Emissions Control Warranty? See the document “Service and Warranty Information” for the 2011 model year cars: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/at...0&d=1492325417
Page 31 states that New Jersey is a covered state (where I reside). Page 45 shows that the turbo charger is covered for the 2011 335i up to 7 years, 70,000 miles. Any experiences to share? Was the total bill for the repair covered? |
