M240 with dinan sports tuner and VRSF downpipe
Hey guys, just seeing if anyone is running a relative set up as me. I have a m240 with the dinan sports tuner +4, dinan midpipes, Bms intake, and 4.5 in vrsf downpipe. After I installed my downpipe, I?m not getting the same power as I did before. Any reason why? Or do I need to switch to a more aggressive tune like JB4? Just thought I would have got more power, but I guess bigger downpipe, more flow, but less pressure. Any help or thoughts?

Because you have significantly changed the airflow characteristics of your engine it is highly recommended you get a proper dyno tune. Once you do you'll see a big bump in power.

How exactly do you suggest he gets a proper dyno tune on the m240i? The DME is locked.

Not sure what the DME being locked has to do with getting dyno tuned. Just because the DME hasn't been cracked, doesn't mean you can't dyno tune the car with a piggyback. It simply means there's no flash tune available yet. Map 6 on the JB4 can be custom tailored and doing so on a dyno to see max gains would be beneficial.

Lot of misinformation here.
OP Only reason i can think of is a boost leak from the downpipe install or a damaged O2 sensor. Since your tune does not datalog, i recommend you get a mechanic to check the downpipe install for any boost leaks
