Very strange wear and tear
I've had my original Potenza RE050 tires on my style 189 OEM wheels for nearly 10,000miles and with the my driving style which is very hard (have been to the track a couple of times and done a couple of burnouts), I wouldn't be shocked if its time to change my rear tires. So for the past 2 days I've been painting my stock calipers, and I saw that my tires had been worn pretty badly. The weird thing is that the tires have been worn from the center and inwards, and from the outside it looks like the tires have another %40 of its thread left. Is that normal or was the car not aligned properly from the factory and thats y this happened? And if its cause the car wasn't aligned properly from the factory do you guys think I can argue with the dealership and make them change my tires for free because of this abnormal wear and tear?

Maybe it's just the pictures, but I'm not seeing 40% life there anywhere. Those tires look pretty thoroughly shot. Were you expecting the shoulders to be worn smooth?
But no, I don't think you have a claim for anything. Time for an upgrade |

Holy Cow! That's with only 10,000 miles! You really are an animal! I wouldn't even put those tires anywhere near my car again.

thanks guys for your responses.i think it is time for tire change. i havent been driving more than 50mph after seeing the tires in that condition. i was thinking of getting the Potenza RE760 Sport. I know theyre probably not the best option out there, but my tire insurance company would only let me change my tires with a Bridgestone and it has to have the same rating as the stock Potenza RE050 RFT which is 90W for the rear.
what do you guys think of these? should I get those or just get the same Original RFTs? |

With the way you drive, you might "out-drive" the RE760s

hahaha, im gonna need to change them but still not sure what to get. I need a tire that has a rating of 90W and of size 255/35/18 so that my tire insurance will still cover me and not void my policy. any recommendations?

the rating of these is higher than 90W, I ordered the Yokohama ADVAN S4 Ultra high performance all season. These should be good. they have a really good rating and I need something that is good for nearly all year round since I'm in Boston and it rains and snows hear a lot. For dry traction I have my drag radials
