Games Consoles....Not Green Enough!
Take a look at this !
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7407934.stm This is the most rediculous story to make the BBC news in ages. You couldn't make it up. 50 tonnes of Global E Waste per Year - wow. I can fart more methane than this in any given Year with more effect on the environment FFS What next? - It really does begger belief!!!! PhilR |

I do understand they're concern in this case.. it was early last year that Apple were declared on of the most environmentally UNfriendly companies around, even more so than car manufacturers!
... but it is stupid how it is as if they are preparing to shift the blame to games console users after proving they have no say in the Airline Industry or Car Manufacturing market!! Its almost like they like to make a fuss about any industry that is making money! Like you said PhilR, how many 0.00000000000001% this contributes to the environment as a whole, is probably ridiculous!! TSL

Hey, my XBOX360 is GREEN.
It's helping to reduce my heating costs Damn thing gets so hot, it's creating it's own microclimate.

This is just an example of environmental campaigners using the growing concern about climate change to raise the profile of other less important issues.
Toxic chemicals is a whole different debate. When it comes to toys you have a risk that a 3 year old will put them in their mouth, so the risk of ingestion of something nasty is pretty high. I think the chances of a toddler licking the inside of an xbox are pretty slim, so to that extent these guys are barking up the wrong tree. This owes more to health and safety'ism than environmentalism. |

"Ms Al-Hajj said: "We see a gap there. For us this is still a toy. "

They are right - I am so pissed off with my 360 I am tempted to toss it in the next available skip.
Pile of f**king shite. Why not assemble it out of f**king ice and save everyone the trouble of chucking the f**ker away? PS - Anyone fancy buying a newly repaired 360? It is a quality console. |

That's one hell of a laptop playing Crysis - my tower struggles! Good game though.

Greenpeace seem to be under the impression that the current media and political obsession with CO2 somehow elevates their status from being just a bunch of smelly disruptive hippies and annoying middle class layabouts with no job to being an important organisation with a valued and credible opinion on everything. They're completely wrong on that score of course, but BBC News seems to be fixated on publishing any story it can find with any connection to the environment nowadays.

I just bought the M1330 (little brother) a few weeks ago with the 8300 processor (2.4Ghz) and it is a flier. The 8400GS graphics may not be up to Crysis but I use it as my HD media PC. The HDMI out is very handy.
