How much do the stock style 189 rims weigh?
Hi,
Thinking of replacing my stock BMW style 189 wheels with 19 inch wheels, but am curious about the weight factor since I would like to take her to the track about once a year. Really don't want to go to much heavier wheel. Anyone know how much this style weighs?

Thanks, looks like most of the after market wheels advertised on this forum weigh less than that. Not bad.

how's it going Panzer! I just got back from CMP last Thurs..I highly recommend taking her to the track, just be aware if you go to CMP of "The Kink" cause it almost bit me in the ass!!!
back to your wheel thread.....I just got some Rota SVN's for track and autox and they are def lighter than OEM by as much if not close to 5 lbs! I haven't had a chance to weigh the OEM's vs. Rota's but there is some weight reduction there that helps. not only that but since I went .5 inch wider both F/R then the weight savings are a plus there. |

Wow fast lap, your staying busy. Haven't been to CMP yet, just VIR. How does it compare? SOunds like VIR is a little safer, lol.
Since you are a fellow charlotteon, where do you recomend I go to install or buy my wheels and if I buy online a quality place that I can trust that is willing to do the install. I've been to GMP already, those guys seem like a good bunch. I met a guy at Eurowerks at the Waldhorn last week too. Do you ever make it to Waldhorn. The tarheel chapter meets there every third thursday.
