$825/mo. 36 mo. lease on 335xi sedan - expensive mistake?

I put in an order for a 335xi sedan alpine white with terra leather and aluminum. Fully loaded - Cold Weather, Premium, Sport, STEP, CA, Power rear sunshade, PDC, Nav, HD radio, iPod. MSRP of $52,125.

The dealer tells me he is giving me a good discount and with $2,632 out of pocket at lease start my payments are going to be $825/mo. This is for a 36 month lease @ 15,000 miles per year and with a Philadelphia zip code (extra 1% for tax). I put down $2,000 deposit on my credit card and placed the order with the dealer.

I talked to another dealer just to check out the lease deal I got and they told me they could get my payments down to $795/mo. on the same car with the same cash out of pocket.

Am I getting ripped off or what? Any help would be appreciated. It's my own fault for only going to one dealer I guess...

This month the residuals went down pretty bad but off my head i would say thats a lot of money. I did some calculations and your payments should be more like $715/mo with tax. Make sure the dealer shows you all the numbers. Don't just let him say they are giving you a good deal. You need to know that for this month the residual on the car is 56% and the money factor is .002(4.8%). The 2 numbers as well as the price that you and the dealer agree upon make up the lease payment.+tax. Tell the dealer that after you did some research their numbers seem way too high.

Good Luck

That seems quite hig to me. I just negotiated similar config. for my girlfriend's car except her's is a 335i and it only cost $636/mth with $3,600 out of pocket. I can't justify a $189 per month increase for a total of $6,800 over 3 years to go from an "i" to an "ix" just for 4 wheel traction/drive. Seems the dealership saw you coming. As an analyst, I visited and communicated with 5 dealers before hand and received esteimates ranging from $619-$760.

honestly, the leasing program is so bad on the 335 right now. If you're getting 636 per month with 3600 down, its pretty bad. You should pay that with zero down to make it worthwhile

go find a car in stock and you'll get mad discount over that. why do they need to discount an order when they've got 50 335's on the lot?

Wow thats way too much.

Although not a xi. My local BMW dealer just had a lease deal for a 335i sedan.

$299/month, $2,995 down, doc fee, acquisition fee, and taxes/registration. 24 month lease, 10,000 miles/year.

It ended on 6/30.

If was for no option car. But could easily order what ever options, it was a damn good starting point. And if did want a stripper 335i, hard to beat that deal.

Got to 785/mo on the 335i with navi, prem, sport, heated seats (50k msrp or so)...

I also live in IL, and here we have to pay sales tax on the full price of the vehicle and not just the leased portion (sucks...one of two states to do that still)...

Nothing down
