strange warnings from coded car
In recent weeks, my 15' F30 is throwing weird error after startup in the morning. it's always hood open warning, restraint system warning and faulty transmission error. after driving for few minutes, the warning can clear out automatically, other times it will clear out and CEL will remain lit.
went to the dealer twice for this issue and they claimed nothing was wrong after checking the car. however, they did tell me that since my car had coding done, they saw a lot of error codes and wanted me to re-code the car back to OEM and check if these errors will come back. They won't help me further unless codings were removed from the car. Anybody have seen this before? my car was last coded by myself more than 6 months ago after LED turn signal install, no issue whatsoever until recent weeks. what is the easiest way to remove all codings? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

If I were you I would clear all the errors myself and see when and where the errors will pop up again to get more information and proberbly why and error is popping up. You can clear the errors on a couple of different ways. use the search option for this.

Reset all the modules back to stock and see if it continues to happen. Has the battery ever been changed?

There is external transmitter to clear false positives. But, best to check that ECU's still all have CAF's as well as run diagnostics with ISTA+.

Thank you all for the feedback.
I was planning using the tool32 to reset cel. However after driving one day, the light reset it by itself. I am sure it will happen again. How easy it is to reset all the modules? My battery is still original, but seems to be fine. Also, how to verify all CAFs are present? Rgds, |
