New TPMS Sensors

Just a quick question, I'm going to be putting new wheels on my car soon and wanted to know when installing my new wheels with TPMS is there a certain procedure you have to do to have the car "recognize" the new sensors? Is it just a simple reset?

All you got to do is reset it using the iDrive while you are driving... (if you have iDrive).

I don't have iDrive... haha. I just have a plane car, so I guess I just reset it like I would normally?

Yup... normal reset, but while driving.

I put new wheels and TPMS sensors on my car and it did not require a reset. Drove out of the tire shop w/o any warnings...

Is it just a simple reset of the tires while driving or parked? I've heard different things? I do not have I-drive

Now I am curious about this. I do not have iDrive and will be putting new wheels on my car in a week or so. Guess it's back to the manual.

Winter tire package

Hello. I am new to this forum. I recently upgraded from a e36 to the e90 2006 330i with sport package. The car came with the star spoke 162 summer tire run flats. I'm not too familiar with all these tire and wheels...

since I live in Chicago, I will need a set of winter tires. after reading some of the threads, i'm a bit confused about this TPM. If i get a set of new wheels and tires, is there a difference between any after market wheels with winter tires and oem? is the TPM something I need to consider? will this be needed for my car to operate properly?

thanks in advance.

On your 330i you will not need TPMS sensors in the wheels. TPM is done by rotation on your car.

The only e90's that need is are ones that were produced in March 2007 and newer

thanks for your reply, Zoeb! you clarified a lot.

anyone know where I can get a decent set of tires and wheels for my 330i? i can't afford to fork out a ton of money...

any recommendations on which wheels and tires to get? anyone selling their extra set?

also, this is an off topic, but any input on getting the UUC EV03 short shift kit?
does it work well? will getting that changed void any warranty? is the ssk a real difference? is the shifting smooth or notchy?

thanks!

It really depends on what you are looking for.

If you are just looking for a winter setup w/ some winter tires I can probably show you a couple things. If you are looking for a setup with big wheels and a set of all seasons, I can cover you on that as well. If you want something right in between I have something for you as well

I shoot you a PM with a link to a winter setup as you requested, but if you have something else in mind please feel free to respond with what you have in mind

a buddy of mine found me a set of used oem wheels and winter tires. its for oem style 158 wheels with RFT Blizzaks 225/45 R17's. the price doesn't seem too bad but will these have any negative impact on my car?

current i have different sizes on the front and back that came with the sport package.

Zoeb,

thanks for your PM. I'll see what I can afford and let you know so we can find something if these oem's don't work out.
