Potential lease prices?

Can I assume with the elimination of MSD and the starting base cost that we probably are looking, at what, $1500/mo minimum for a 36 month lease? I am assuming maybe a 50% residual or somewhere close? Would be tax write-off but trying to determine whether to get the M550 or wait for the M5.

Would be hard to justify $1500/month when the M550 can be had for under $1k....not to mention I was paying $1300 and change for a 24 month lease on a M6 GC. I'm not paying more for a lesser car.

honestly it's hard to speculate because we have no idea how bad the residuals will be. an educated guess would put the lease around $1500-1600 a month due to bmw not willing to set high residuals like the last time when the F10 M5 was released.

yes it's certainly a tougher pill to swallow but I'm already paying $1295 for my 2015 m5 with everything except CCB and night vision. Another $200 isn't a big deal but I feel like the car has to be worth it to justify that expense.

I guess that’s my point. You could be paying $300 less for a M550 faster than your M5 and yet is it worth it to pay $200 more over what you pay now.

I would definitely pay a couple hundred premium for the M5 over the 550 but not sure I would pay $500 more a month for it.

smart money would say wait for the LCI. Unfortunately, my lease is up in July 2018. So either I keep the car or do a 1-2 year lease of the M550? I honestly don't know.

I paid 1700 for 2014 M5. Everything except CBB. Loved the car so just took over the lease at that price. I know I overpaid.

I would say you came out exactly even, actually. If you had higher lease payments, presumably that would've meant a lower residual to pay off at time of takeover. In fact, given that your monthly lease payments were that high, I would say buying it out at the end of the lease was the best move you could've made.

It should be MF which dealers love to mark up and mess around with. Residuals are non neg.

[edit] unless you meant the varying residuals month to month but did it fluctuate that much in a one year? Besides low residual is only good if you plan on buy out which leasing shouldn't really be used, variables dependent.
