Any recommendations for summer tires?

can anyone recommend what are good summer tires to get that are will fit vancouver conditions?

And is it worth getting performance tires for daily driving, just out of curiousity?

Unbelievable. Drove back from Shuswap -> Calgary Tuesday, rained almost the entire way. Great on the wet .... very predictable when at the edge of losing traction.

Abit pricey?!?! The PS2 is one of the most expensive tire in it's category. I think it's worth the money if you can afford it but it certainly not a cheap solution.

Check out Goodyear F1 GS-D3. Slightly lower in price if you're not going to push your car to the limits. Still not 'cheap', but you got to pay to play.

the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 was the tire I was going to get initially, was just thinking of some alternatives. I have yet to see how much is PS2, thanks again.

Do some searching on this tire. Be aware that while the Goodyears get very favourable reviews overall...some E90POST members have experienced problems with flat spots/vibration with this tire.

Unfortunately not much else out there to recommend. Could try something from some of the other premium manufacturers (like Dunlop or Pirelli).

Other than that...the popular tires here seem to be the cheaper stuff like General UHP, Falken's, Kumho ESCTA, etc...mainly because of the price point.

I did some research on the PS2s people say they have soft sidewalls. Is this really the case?

Soft sidewalls? Never heard that ....

Perhaps I should have qualified the PS2's before recommending them to you. They certainly ARE one of the most expensive solutions out there, and there are a host of less expensive alternatives.

In no particular order, check out:

Goodyear, Yokohama, Toyo, Falkin, Bridgestone, Continental

well my choices are either the PS2 or the Goodyears. Just trying to decide which. I mean if their is not much difference in terms of price for the PS2. And they are of good quality, I dont mind spending the extra dime.

And in terms of thread life which last longer?

Try TireRack.com and read the reviews / compare the spec's. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric is a great tire - I simply prefer the Michelin

If you can afford it buy the PS2. I don't think you will be disappointed. The Goodyear has a longer tread life but that's the compromise for a tire with better grip (PS2).

The Pilot Sports tires use to be the OE for M3 and the top choice by Porsche owners. It was top of my list for tires but was out of my budget range.

Look at the Falken FK452 http://www.falkentire.com/xhtml/tire...egory=3&tire=1

Great performance for the price.
