Finally got the word a few days ago that my car has arrived in the city (not yet to the dealer unfortunately), but went in anyway to take in my parts that I want them to install (DP, aero, gills, grills...the usual bits and bobs). What do I see when I walk in??...MY18 LCI AW...just sitting there. First one I have seen at the dealership (in any colour). Asked my CA about it, he said that the guy ordered it in May of 2016 and it just arrived yesterday. Apparently the guy got tired of waiting and bought a mustang instead. I ordered in October of 2016 and my car should arrive Monday/Tuesday. Over 400 days!

Car has no added options, but there weren't many to add anyway. Car is MT. I assume they are asking MSRP for it, but doesn't hurt to make an offer.

That's crazy, your dealer must not get a lot of allocations, two of my friends ordered their MY18's in May/June and got them in September (delivered), I ordered my MY17 in Dec 16 and had a April built slot, only because I did ED did it take until June for me to actually pick it up.

None of us paid over MSRP..

I took delivery of a 2018 AW M2 LCI in late October. The car was ordered by a current M2 owner looking to upgrade to a 2018, but in the end they decided not to spend the additional money to trade up.

As a previous owner of a 2015 Porsche 911 GTS (sold in the summer), I had been starting to look for another fun, yet special, yet practical car.

By chance I stumbled across the M2 (the day it came available at the dealer) and took delivery the next day.

Perfect spec for me, AW with exec pkg, sunroof and DCT. Love the size, the sound, the fun factor, the widebody and the savings over a new 911. Plan to drive all year 'round, unlike the fair weather 911.

Is that normal in the GWN?
I would not have ordered one if the wait was anything approaching a year. I placed my order in mid September & the ship carrying her to the left coast is nearing the Panama Canal now.

I'm sure there are other (higher volume) dealers in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area, not Grand Theft Auto, lol) that can get the "base" M2 faster, especially now, since many guys are likely hoping they can get a CS and are holding out. I asked my CA about the CS and he said they already have 7 names on the list and they believe (not even confirmed) that they will only get 2 allocations in 2018 (of MY2019). So maybe I should put my name on the CS list now...and when my lease is up in 4 years, I should be at the top, lol.

Dang, you sold a GTS? Those things are holding their value so well. Says a lot about the M2 though

Is your dealer, that you said to have AW MY18 M2, Parview BMW??
I went there 2 weeks ago and saw it sitting there with MPE and all MP carbon bits except the rear spoiler.

As I went there to finalize the deals of my accessories and payment for my week 44 coming on the way, I was shocked to see M2 in their lot.

I asked if it is cancelled by someone, and my SA said "no we are the one ordered". And then he offered me to sit in and rev to hear beautiful MPE sound but I refused as I am sure that will make me go nut and also make me my wait feel even longer that what already is....

However, I am about a week away now as mine is on CN rail coming from NS to ON. She should be at my dealer latest next week Monday and by the time they install all the add-ons... I should be able to sit behind her wheel next Friday... Wait is now even more worrrrse....
