G30, Navigation HELP please

Is anyone else underwhelmed by the G30 navigation system?

It looks very pretty and seems to know where traffic is most of the time HOWEVER, No matter which type of route (fast/short/ecopro) i try it doesn't seem to match or find the best possible route in traffic situations compared to google maps. I end up glancing at my phone instead for a better route....

Have i got some setting wrong somewhere?

many thanks,

Jukkha

It seems the same as my previous f10 and that saved me countless hours of being stuck in traffic.
How do you know google IS actually better ,is it just suggesting an alternative?

Where is all of this out of interest? I am basing my opinion on the UK specific ally mostly around London or so.

I'd say BMW dynamic routing has been very reliable in my car. It's saved me number of times from getting stuck.

Have you got dynamic routing on?

Thanks for all the thoughts and suggestions.

I have experimented a few times now on the journey home from work in heavy traffic.

The google maps route has always been the quickest home

I do have enable traffic and online learn function on too

i will check dynamic routing, not sure i saw that option?

Dynamic routing is real time changes in route while driving (ie "your route is being recalculated due to traffic information").

I find that Waze is always more reliable and accurate in terms of arrival time. The navigation's arrive time in traffic situations seems to always be off pretty significantly

My experience is quite the opposite. I have relied on BMW navigation for the past 4-5 years and it's been very accurate to +-5 mins on an hour long commute. I guess all our experiences differ based on where we live. I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland and there's not much traffic to complain about.

I've found it very good. I'm based South West London.
I guess it depend upon how many other viable alternatives there are for your route. I regularly drive a route that many possible options (M40,A40,M3,A3,M25,M4 and many inbetween)so I basically always avoid any traffic.
I do get a kick out of seeing traffic up ahead on the other carriage away on the map and then for real when I get there . In town it is very accurate and accuracy seem to be down to a couple of hundred of yards around London.

Of course there are situations that you just get round if but I have no hesitation renewing this once the 3 years are up, a no brainer to me personally.
Certainly miles ahead (excuse the pun) of RDS-TMC
