02 Sensor Codes Conundrum

Hey all,

So I recently started throwing a Lambda probe front catalyst 2, trimming control, 002C32 code. Just this one. After a bit of searching seemed like I just needed to change my Bank 2 precat sensor. Car is a '09 328i, roughly 105k. I went ahead and just replaced both precats since I was already in there. Cleared code and within 24 hours another engine light, though the code was different, slighty, Lambda probe front catalyst 2, adjustment control, 002C32.

I figure hell maybe it just needs to cycle through for a couple days to level out and clear itself so gave it about a week. Light still there, so I go to pull the codes and now in addition to the 2C32 I have a 02 PreCat sensor system check, 002C2C code. WTF!

Could the brand new sensor have just been bad? They are both new BOSCH OEM. I'm thinking to swap the connectors to see if the codes follow. I hate to have to do that rear cat sensor again. It was a bit of a pain. Can I do that?

Thoughts?

There may be an adaptation that needs to be cleared on those lambda sensors. I could swear I saw an adaptation in ISTA+.

I just checked, and there is indeed a Lambda probe adaptation.

Can this be cleared with Carly by chance. Did a quick search and didn't see anything. Or it HAS to be ISTA+?

You can probably use INPA or ISTA+. Bavarian Technic might also work.

Carly can do it.

Also, they will reset after few drive cycles.

Damn, I can't for the life of me find where. I'll have to check again.

What's a few? And would that few "reset" every time I cleared them. I've cleared manually twice so far.

My codes went away after about 3-4 restarts and about 100 miles.

The only way to wipe them with Carly is to wipe all error codes. There is no specific setting just for O2.

If you read the codes with Carly then code should be good.
clearing with Carly also works.

but mine did not need a drive cycle to clear.
it was right away.

but I think you do have to do a full adaptation reset with INPA.
