LCI Complete Instrument Cluster Failure

I have had my 2018 LCI since October with no issues whatsoever. Took it in for the 1200 mile service a couple weeks ago, and asked about the instrument cluster software update, but there were no updates listed for my car. A week later, out running errands, and after starting my my car the entire dash stayed black, with no audible on the turn signals, even though they were working. Called my SA, and took the car in 12/22. They tried several software related updates/commands, whatever, and could not resolve the issue. So, my car is now awaiting a new instrument cluster to come from Germany (minimum 10 days) while I have a fine 2017 X1 to drive around in. Has there been any complete instrument cluster failures on the LCI dash, or am I just exceptionally lucky?

Sorry to hear.

Also for safety reasons, that should not happen.

ANY component.. ANY part on your vehicle can fail right? Hence warranty. And loaner.

it's pretty clear that you were already aware of this item being at risk for failure.. so ... I don't see any " luck " involved. you would be LUCKY if a part that was having an issue didn't fail.
