FRM upgrade

hi guys,

wanting to upgrade my frm 1 to either 2 or 3. now my car is a pre lci, and the previous owner had already done and lci conversion on it(xenon headlights and lci tailghts included) so what i would like to confirm is to upgrade to frm2 or 3 do i need a xenon specific frm? if so, what would the code read?FRM3R or something?

thanks

also does it mater if its from a 1 series ? im guesing they are all the same.

cheers

No you can purchase any FRM2/3 would work, however it would need to be coded.

If all you want is homelights, I believe BimmerGeeks found a solution to add this to FRM1 so you don't need to replace FRM then.

Jumping into this conversation with a coding question...

When upgrading from halogen FRM1 to xenon with FRM2, once I add the correct xenon ($522 I think) to the VO, and then code the FRM2 back to default with expert mode, do I ALSO have to remove the bulb checks or will that automatically be disabled when its coded to default and contains the xenon call in the VO?
