1500RPM hesitation

Hi, first time poster to this forum but long time lurker.
I've a 335d 14 plate, 45k miles and an annoyance rather than problem. I sit on the motorway at 70/75/80 leptons using cruise control, between 1500 and 2000 RPM and every so often I feel a hesitation. It is almost like I've lifted off the accelerator, if I'm at this constant speed not using cruise it can still happen. The car is fully warmed up, fuel filter changed, shell or BP fuel, no CEL or warnings stored.
Racking my brains and trawling through forums I 'narrow' it down to:
MAF
MAP sensor
MAP thermostat (US SIB-12-33-14, not listed in UK) http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=891779
EGR opening/closing
DPF regen
Alternator cutting in/out
Fuel injector

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Hmmm. Never heard of that before. Speculation, but it could be a sticking wastegate/changeover to larger turbo. Or, perhaps swirl flaps opening/sticking...?
