F22 LSD Install Time...

Hey guys. Just wondering what is a fair price to have an LSD installed on an M240i? The first dealer quote I got was about $600. I'm guessing that's about 4-5 hours of labor? Should I keep shopping around?

***UPDATE: I searched around and asked... Dealer is charging $175/hr at 3.5 hours. Looking at most threads, the job should take about 3 hours to install.

My local indie shop did it for $490 labor including tax (plus $95 for the fluid). I don't recall the number of hours quoted though. Also, this was a Diffsonline Wavetrac diff which required swapping a cover from my original pumpkin. If dropping in an M-Performance unit I imagine it would require less time since there is no core swap shenanigans.

My dealer charged me $513 out the door to install the MP LSD.

$400-600 is about right. It's a 3 to 3.5 hour job on the books. I'm sure a good tech will do it in 1.5 hours but they're allowed to charge the 3.5 hour book time.

There's nothing difficult about this install. I'd install it myself when I get mine, but BMW has chosen to make it much harder to remove the axles from the diff, thus requiring $500 in special BMW tools to leverage and safely pop the axle out.

I got quoted $300 AUD if i supplied the diff.... and yes that's AUD so roughly $230USD

But if i want to buy a diff, M-Performance for the sake of this argument, I was quoted anywhere between $3,800 and $6,000 lol... where as i saw i could purchase one in the US over the black friday sales for $2,200USD.

So i guess you guys are still better off up north rather than down here.

Wow. The pricing for the MP LSD down there is crazy. I got mine during the holiday sale for 1500USD + tax (after rebate).
