LCI Touch screen

Big question

Does anyone really use it?? I do love the ID6 better than the old drive.

Had the car one week and haven't touched the screen once lol

I don't like touchscreens in cars, too distracting and awkward. Much prefer a physical wheel / buttons.

This is also seems too far away to be easily usable.

It nice to have. And I think the updated ID is better.

Only 100 or so miles into my 2018. I only touched the screen once to test the reach. I still use iDrive controller 100% of the time.

However, both passengers I drove around today both touched the screen without even asking.

I didn't think about it, but another member said the younger generation would use it as they are Touch screen generation.

I never use it. Just too far away.

Whilst on the subject of the interface, I’m happy to be back in a BMW and using idrive for online music. Been using carplay which is really inefficient. Terrible interface!!

I would probably use the touch capability if the screen weren't so far. If it were centered like the AC controls and the standard radio buttons, it would probably see more touch use. I too have Carplay and I have connected it a handful of times and every time I can't help but feel it's intrusive into normal functions of the car. I find myself having to relearn muscle memory every time I switch, so I just leave it on the ID6 interface now.

Not pressed it in mine I don't think, just use the wheel. Its a great system, coming from porsche's 2013 system its a big step up from that.
