I just wondered if there's any good deals on these at the moment?

Try Cotswold BMW, they seem to do the best deals on all the M bits. If you look on m3cutters forum they have a list with discounts or just give them a call. Think it's about £2.2k with carbon tips.

The MPE is a nice bit of kit, love putting mine in track mode, comfort, mdm and it burbles away lovely!

£1900 for titanium tipped
£2100 for carbon tipped

Those are Cotswold BMW discount prices including delivery - was just a few days ago I asked them if they were current prices and they said yes.

If you have the DCT, do you find you need to shift to 'manual' to get the best sound from the comfort / MDM / track combination, or does it work as well in 'auto' mode?

Yes, the car will only change gear how Bmw set it up, with paddle you can drop down at a higher rev, loud pops and bangs. With the valves open you get a more aggressive idle & Rev sound in DCT. I love driving with paddle to make it pop.

What is the quality like compared to the original OEM exhaust? My OEM has pitted like mad and has black crap all over it, which is almost impossible to get rid of unlike the Scorpion I had fitted to my TTS.

I looked at a used M2 with MPE and it had a black mark right across the embossed performance logo, it looked like black spray paint .

My MPE still looks great ?

Seems decent quality to me, carbon tips look great. As long as you clean it regularly I would think it would look like new. Mines done 2.4k now and looks as new. Only real negatives are I think it drones a bit around 3k rpm and the boot button for track mode. My car came with it fitted but if it had not I'd also be looking at other makers like Remus or Akrapovic if you've deep pockets and a full cat back.

There is a post here somewhere showing to bridge / scotch-lock two of the cables (total of 4) on the boot button to make it redundant

It is easy to bridge, just bridge the 2 black wires on the red button wiring

Was that expensive steveo1 or something you done yourself? The red button idea is really putting me off the MPE system.

It's an easy job, anyone can do it. Remove the boot trim, and bridge the 2 black word where the switch is plugged in. Happy days
