Question 2017 BMW X1, Under dash 12V power?

Quick question...
Looking to plug in a dash cam (A119S) and I know there is a power plug under the glove box area.
Does that 12v power plug turn off with the ignition ? Or does it always have constant power?
I don't want the dash cam always on if its not needed..

Powers off after about 5 mins, when the rest of the car shuts down: not instantly when the ignition turns off.

I've got my dash cam plugged into this socket - you can thread the lead behind the glove box as there are holes in the under-dash trim.

I'm using this socket, via a jointed double socket to allow it to stay relatively flush to the underside of the glove box, to power my dashcam too. I've run the cable under the A-pillar trim, above the roof lining across the front windscreen and then it pops out part way along the trim of the rear-view mirror. It was just long enough...

One tip I picked up from the forum was to colour in the back of the whitish plastic sucker on the dashcam with a marker pen to make it blend in a little more with the darker car interior.

As stated above, the socket powers off a few minutes after the ignition goes off, giving some extra recording time in "parking" mode typically.
