Anyone had issues with Generals being out of round?
Ok, so here is my situation. Bought the Breyton GTS with Generals about 4 weeks ago from TireRack through my local dealer. Noticed a vibration right from the beginning and took them back in. Dealer said two of the tires were out of round...bad. So, they ordered two new ones. Yesterday I got the two new tires put on and they told me they weren't as bad as the first, but still out of round. Vibration was better but still present. Oh, and the said the wheels are fine, so they aren't the problem.
At this point, I have two options. Either send all 4 of the Generals back in for 4 more Generals, or send them in and replace with 4 new tires of another brand. My question is has anyone had issues with vibration/trouble balancing/out of round Generals? It seems like a lot of people have these tires with no problems, makes me wonder why I am having so many issues. Maybe I just got a bad batch, who knows. I am debating whether the $400+ it would take to upgrade to Goodyears or the like would be worth it.

i've been having the same issue but with Falkens. i got a second set on some new Rota SVN's but I still have the whoomp, whoomp noise with a tiny bit of steering vibration. the second set did help with eliminating the vibration but the noise that is still there is driving me crazy. I am taking the wheels/tires are going to be checked and if needed re-balanced at the dealer.
at Discount Tire where I got the tires they were having issues with their Hunter machine....it was going nutz and they really couldn't balance (road force) correctly so I think that balancing is still an issue. either this or the tires are NOT good for the wheels. I have heard of Falkens being noisy but Generals? this is the first. interesting for others to chime it cause if my Falkens didn't work out I was going for the Generals next |

Just got my generals put on my 19" rims and I'm very happy. No vibration, no noise. They are as quiet if not quieter than the stock run-flats.

With the two new tires, the vibration occurs around 40-45 MPH. On the interstate at 75-80 there is also a vibration, but less severe.
