Congrats!...Wow...order first of Feb and it's in your hands in March?....We ordered first of Dec last year and didn't lay hands on our X1 till the very end of March!...Of course ours had to travel to the West coast, with a stop in Texas I'd guess but that doesn't account for the huge difference in time...maybe demand is lower this year?...Heard that auto sales in general are off compared to last year...

We got ours on Saturday and we ordered at the end of November. It sat at the port of exit for almost 2 weeks, so it could have been door to door in 6 weeks if the stars align correctly.

Only one engine available in US...2.0L gas...228hp, 258 ft lb. and only the 8 speed Aisin auto trans...no dual clutch, and certainly no manual...Manual transmission is down to about 5% of us vehicles in total...and most of those are in hard core sports cars and pick up trucks. My X1 was the first vehicle we've owned that NOT a stick shift...traffic during visits to family in the SF Bay Area finally wore us down.

I understand that US market prefers automatic transmission....even European market is switching to automatic...this will be the second automatic vehicle for me and i have to admit that i prefer it by far to manual specially if you live in a heavy traffic area. It seems strange that US market didn't get the dual clutch yet...is it a BMW strategy ?

Gasoline is cheap in the US, so there's no point in having the lower output models, I'm guessing

I am not sure but that is what they told me. I traded my 09 E90 in and managed to get 9K for it, not bad at all. I can't wait!! This will be my first SAV/SUV
